Basic Memory Theory I

Memory is the ability to retain information over time. It is a process that includes three steps:

1. There are many things that we don’t need to remember.. It would be painful, if you remembered every meal you have ever eaten. There are many things that you remember from the past. These are things that have been meaningful or bizarre.

2. If you saw a purple cow walking on the street – you would remember that for a long time. WHY? Because storing something exciting into your mind is easier than something very ordinary (since we are masters at forgetting useless information).

3. Then we just need to recall the information at some future time.
